50 years of technological advancement
2025Cast aluminum skull with an evolved electronic brain, a kind of extreme external memory, a mega upgrade, so to speak. From the time when the big techcompanies became openly totalitarian and took over America. The printed circuit board part is made from a single printed circuit board from 1975 that I received from my father, he saved the board at his former work at the University of Groningen. I just turned 2 years older than the circuitboard and completed the work around my birthday this year. It was quite a puzzle to be able to construct the entire shape from the board without leaving a piece of waste!

K-Town Cube
2023My first work in Bronze, created at the Symposium “Westwärts – Neuer Kontext” organized by Künstlerwerkgemeinschaft Kaiserslautern in the spring of 2023. The work was created using "the lost foam method", i.e. the original was formed in Styrofoam, after which it was placed in a sand mold where the hot bronze was poured directly. The bronze burns the foam and takes over the shape of the Styrofoam. In the end result, even the prints of the small balls of the foam can still be found here and there! After this, the prefabricated printed circuit board parts and lighting were added to the work. The name K-town cube refers to the nickname of the city of Kaiserslautern: K-town. This name was given to the city by the Americans. A large part of the city's residents are American because of the adjacent Rammstein air base.
The Carbon Cube
2022The Carbon Cube was specially made for the Klimatexpo 2022, the work was on display from September to early December 2022 in museum De Fundatie in Nijenhuis Castle. The Carbon Cube is made of lignite briquettes with printed circuit boards and LED lighting.
